Couples Therapy
The best time to start talking about attending couples is when things are beginning to get rocky. Most people actually come when things are pretty unstable. As long as you don't wait till its so rocky that you can't see the beach through the rocks, we should be able to make things a little bit better.
All my clients are unique and all of their relationships are too. I will always try to find what will work best on a case by case basis with the. The best interest of my clients is what is foremost in my mind so, however I can best assist them, that is what I will do.

Reasons People Attend Couples Therapy
People decide to begin therapy for many reasons but couples therapy is unique because the "patient" or the "client" is the relationship itself. My job is to help foster change in the relationship so you can grow as a couple and heal some of the past wounds that were inflicted on the relationship.
- Rebuild friendship with partner
- Learn to communicate effectively
- Get back "that loving feeling"
- Rebuild broken trust
- Learn about forgiveness and see if it is possible
The Types of Couples I Work With
ALL TYPES! Some couples have been married and some have not.
Doing couples therapy online is unique. It is not the best method for everyone so there could be a possibility I would recommend a different therapist. If that were the case I'd be open about it and quickly. It would be in your best interest to ensure you receive the most ideal therapy possible.
The couples I have seen all had one thing in common, and that was, they all wanted help to make their relationship with their loved one better and that is what I am there to assist them with. I'm here to help not to judge, as all therapists should.

How to Get the Most Out of Couples Therapy
Partners need to be equally committed to the therapeutic process
As long as both partners are invested in the couples therapy I can help. Both partners need to try and use the information they get in the therapy session throughout the week as well. Sessions are generally only 50 minutes and thats not enough time to spend on the relationship each week if you expect to see some change and growth.
Concurrent individual therapy
What does concurrent individual therapy mean?
Being able to bring "your best self" to the relationship means getting support and working through the emotions and the problems within your own heart and mind.
Does that mean the couple therapist would also do individual therapy?
No. That is something I would not do. I would never see some one for both individual and couples therapy at the same time because it would create a type of dual relationship that is not acceptable to me. I could either provide you with a referral or you could find an individual therapist on your own.
What if doing both Couples and Individual therapy isn't possible?
I understand that seeing more than one therapist at a time can be costly.
In some instances people can do just fine without doing individual therapy and other times we may find it is so important that it can not be avoided.
There have been occasions when I have asked people to do individual therapy for a month or so and then come back to do couples therapy. In those situations, the clients came back and we were able to do the work that needed to be done.
